Faculty recognize student excellence

At an event held in the University of Arizona Student Union Memorial Center on April 8, the College of Engineering honored 17 undergraduate seniors, nine graduate students, and 10 teaching assistants in recognition of top performance in academics and research.

"This is one of the best days of the year," said David W. Hahn, the Craig M. Berge Dean of the College of Engineering. "Today, we get to celebrate you and everything you've accomplished."

College of Engineering faculty recognized materials science and engineering senior Connor Tankersley and graduate student Madeline Daily and optical sciences and engineering teaching assistant Yong Xin "Kongo" Lai.

"Madeline is not only an exceptional research, but also a standout communicator on an international stage," said Barret G. Potter, professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering.
