Three places you might expect to find Liz Cameron: the laboratory, the classroom and the forge.
Cameron, a senior research scientist in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and MSE alumna, teaches applied metallurgy at Pima Community College's downtown campus. She also co-founded Desert Metal Craft, Southern Arizona's only blacksmithing school, which opened in February.
Desert Metal Craft offers a variety of disciplines under the metalworking umbrella, including welding, casting and fabrication, and the ancient Japanese art of mokume-gane.
